This class marks a significant moment as Brees and Fitzgerald are first-ballot Hall of Famers, while Kuechly and Vinatieri were in their second year of eligibility. Craig, on the other hand, has been waiting for 28 years to receive the knock on his door, making him one of the seniors candidates in a group that also included Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft. However, the induction process has been criticized for its failure to recognize Belichick in his first year of eligibility, and the elections of Brees, Craig, Fitzgerald, Vinatieri, and Kuechly were met with a standing ovation. The Hall of Fame's membership now stands at 387, and the newest members will be enshrined on Saturday, August 8 in Canton.
