Citizen Tsuyosa Shore Review: Summer-Ready Rotating Bezel Dive Watch (2026)

The Summer-Ready Tsuyosa Shore by Citizen: Now with a Rotating Bezel

Since its debut in 2022, the Citizen Tsuyosa lineup has made a clear mark in the affordable, sporty-chic, automatic watch segment. Put simply, it’s one of the best-value options for anyone who wants a well-made, stylish, and reasonably priced timepiece. Over time, the family has evolved: new dial colors, a smaller 37mm variant, and, more recently, a more upscale Tsuyosa 60 Automatic. After the collaborative Seconde/Seconde project, the Tsuyosa line is stepping out in summer attire with the Shore edition. It features greater water resistance, vibrant sea-inspired colors, and a groundbreaking rotating bezel, aiming to drive the collection’s next wave of success.

Citizen frames these new Shore models as ideal companions for active lifestyles. Yet there are several meaningful departures from the standard Tsuyosa 40mm that shift the overall feel noticeably. While it isn’t a full dive watch, the changes push the Tsuyosa toward a more summer-ready, sportier identity.

What stays the same? The core DNA of the Tsuyosa 40mm remains clear: the familiar mid-case shape from the 1980s, an integrated look that blends sportiness with a touch of elegance, a 40mm diameter, brushed surfaces with polished accents, and a recessed crown at 4 o’clock (still a push-pull design). The top features a sapphire crystal with a date magnifier. The caseback remains screw-down and transparent, and the watch keeps its 3-link steel bracelet.

What’s new? The most obvious update is a unidirectional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale set into a metallic insert. The bezel color matches the dial, giving the watch a distinctly sportier, more summer-forward vibe. The Shore editions also increase water resistance to 100m (versus 50m in the classic versions with a plain steel bezel). And because of these upgrades, the case sits a touch thicker at 12.50mm (up from 11.70mm).

Dial details stay largely familiar in spirit. The base remains sunray-brushed, with applied hour markers and luminous hands. A minor refinement appears in the minute track, which gains a detailed sub-second scale, and the hands feature larger hour and minute indices with a prominent lollipop seconds hand. Four Shore variants are offered:
- Two full-steel models with navy blue dial and bezel, or a lighter marine blue tone.
- A bold coral-red dial and bezel combination, paired with a bi-color case and bracelet thanks to partial yellow-gold plating.
- A full yellow-gold plated option with a moss green dial and bezel.

Inside, nothing dramatic changes. The Shore sticks with Citizen’s in-house Caliber 8210 automatic movement, the same caliber found in the standard Tsuyosa 40mm and the Tsuyosa 37mm, punching at 3Hz with about 42 hours of power reserve. All Shore models come on a steel bracelet with a folding clasp, available in uncoated, partially yellow-gold coated, or fully yellow-gold coated finishes to match the case.

Availability and pricing: The Citizen Tsuyosa Shore lands in February 2026 as part of the permanent collection. Pricing starts at EUR 329 for the blue steel versions, EUR 349 for the coral-red two-tone edition, and EUR 359 for the moss green variant.
